Spent Saturday evening, at the historic Bombay Gymkhana watching the finals of the Aga Khan Hockey Tournament. The match was between BPCL and ONGC, with BPCL winning with 4 goals to 1. Had a lovely time, watching the game, after ages, among interested, optimistic, and knowledgeable fans who chose Hockey over the IPL.
The Aga Khan Hockey tournament itself is a historic one, with this being the 101th edition. Its the second oldest hockey tournament in the country, with the first edition played way back in 1896! The last nine years, it was disbanded – because of, what else, politics.
Some shadows, a lot of stick, and a white ball on the greens.
hey, look, a young spectator just popped into the frame. its The BOY!! Hehe, a fan is born 😉
And who is this cool dude? Its Viren Rasquinha. One of our talented players, Ex-India captain (who chose to quit the game over what else…politics), but is now an aggressive ambassador for the game, and was instrumental in getting this tournament back on track this year. Viren’s photo is taken by K.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone! For more shadow shots and stories from around the world, hop on to Harriet’s Blog. See you there.
